Baby Girl's Room

I am so proud of this room! I have finally finished the baby's room and I love the way it looks. We rent our apartment and this hideous green is the color the owners painted this room. It was fine for a boy (I guess) but I thought I wouldn't be able to do anything for a girl. Well, it actually turned out pretty good and the green ties in well with the stuff on the walls. My mother-in-law made the crib blanket and the window valance and I made everything on the walls.

My friend Marie made the carseat cover and I LOVE it!

I'm way proud of this lamp, I had a skirt that I never wore so I covered an Ikea lamp shade with it. I also made all of the rings hanging on the walls.

And...I made these frames. I started out wanting them to be for hair bows, but I found this fabric for the middle and I just don't want to cover it up. Now they are just for decoration. I really am not the craftyess person in the world but all of these projects were so simple and I just loved seeing everything come together. Now I guess all we can do is wait...3 more weeks!

Baby Shower

My friend Michelle threw me a fantastic baby shower this weekend, we ate lots of yummy food and I got tons of really cute clothes. Thanks to everyone who came, I had such a fun afternoon. This is a picture of everyone who came, except my mother-in-law and sis-in-law.

I really did get adorable gifts and i can't wait to dress baby girl in them. My mother in law made me a beautiful crib blanket and a window valance for her room. When everything is done I will post pictures of the room I can't believe how different it looks now.

As everyone knows by now we did not get to go to Virginia for Christmas, but we did have a great time being together and it was fun having new traditions with our little family.
Christmas Eve I made homemade pasta (we always have italian food at my mom and dad's), salad and really yummy garlic cheese bread. I think Wes' favorite part was drinking Martinelli's out of a fancy wine glass. I colored the pasta green so it was more Christmassy and once you got past the color it was super YUMMY!

After dinner we went to the Riverwoods to look at the lights

Wes danced to the Christmas music playing, then we went home to leave cookies and milk out for Santa and read The Night Before Christmas.

Wes woke up earlier than usual on Christmas morning and was excited to see if Santa came.

He got tons of great gifts, but I think his favorite was either candy land or his new train tracks.

Christmas night we went to Josh's parents for dinner and more presents.

Visit with Nanny & 3rd Birthday

Since we sadly don't get to spend Christmas with my family this year (first time in 30 years :( my mom came out to visit last week. Everyone except for me got sick so we didn't get to do everything I wanted, but we still had fun and Wes loves spending time with Nanny.

We decorated a gingerbread house...well my mom did and Wes and I ate the candy.

We went to Trolley Square one night while Josh was at his work Christmas party, wow that mall is LAME. I haven't been there in years, but there honestly is nothing there. Santa wasn't even there, but at least his sleigh was.

This is what Wes wore to see Santa at the mall, since I don't have a scanner I can't show you the picture of him with Santa.

Wes had his 3rd birthday last week and it was such a huge success, he had a great time with all of his buddies!

We went to Thanksgiving Point to look at the lights one night and really it's kind of overpriced, but they had a bunch of other stuff to do and it was just so Christmassy and pretty there that I want to make this a yearly tradition. Maybe not the Saturday before Christmas though it was sooooo busy.

This year I have been a baking fool. I was so proud of everything that I had to take a picture. The only thing not pictured is our cutout cookies Wes and I made a few weeks ago. We are having such a fun time with all the Christmas stuff this year, I can't believe it is almost over. But then again after Christmas I guess we have some other big stuff to look forward to

For Thanksgiving we went up to Wolf Creek with a bunch of Josh's extended family. There were probably close to 30 people there which is very different from spending time with my extended family (all 12 of us). We just did a lot of eating, hot tubbing, sledding and Josh got to spend time with his cousins he never sees.

And my Birthday!! On the 1st I turned...30, I can not believe I am that old but I really had a special couple of days. On my birthday some of my friends took me out to lunch then Josh and I went out ALONE! to Brio for dinner then did some Christmas shopping.

My sister sent me 30 gifts to open!!! Yeah she is pretty much the most awesome sister anyone could have. I think my favorite part was that I definitely did not feel 30 sitting around all these gifts and tearing into them.

The next day was the start of Josh's vacation so we went to breakfast at Kneader's then went on our search for the perfect Christmas tree. We spent the day getting the tree up and decorating it.

At night we went to Riverwoods so Wes could see Santa and all the lights. If anyone hasn't gone to Riverwoods at Christmas it is amazing, even though it is freezing out.

My Aunt Debbie made the top 2 plates (aren't they gorgeous, this crappy picture doesn't do them justice) and I was so excited to finally get to use this rack I got from a yardsale. The bottom plate was one of my gifts from Wes and Josh. I think it might just be the best gift I have ever gotten, on the front they both put a handprint and on the back Wes painted me a picture. I will have to take a better picture of both sides.

And here is our finished Christmas tree! This has really been one of the best birthday weekends ever and it's only Saturday...yes I said birthday weekend I get the WHOLE weekend :)

Halloween

I realize it has been FOREVER since I last blogged, but I really just don't feel like going back and talking about everything that has gone on over the last 5 months, so we will just start here...

Once again Wes had a sweet Halloween costume and we had a great Halloween weekend. We spent the weekend in St. George just hanging out and having fun with our friends. We got home just in time to go trick-or-treating with the Kimbers like we do every year. They have the best trick-or-treat neighborhood and the boys had a blast. Especially Wes he really got the hang of it this year and was running from house to house, so cute.

Today Wes went to a birthday party for one of his best friends. Wes was the only boy there and it was so cute. The girls all had their hair done, and toes painted, Wes just had his toes painted. Then they all got dressed up in their party clothes for pictures. When we left Wes said, " I like that party mom".

Summer fun!

So far this summer has been a blast first our Cali trip and then Art City days which we look forward to every year. First i have to make an announcement...Wes got his hair cut yesterday. I'm sorry to anyone who is going to have a hard time dealing with this, but the curls are gone for now. sorry.

I can't believe how good Josh looks in this picture, he doesn't look like he is completely pissed off like he usually does in pictures.

Trip to San Diego

Last week we went on vacation with our good friends to San Diego. We stayed in an awesome condo in Encinitas, played on the beach tons and went to Sea World. We seriously had the best time. So here are a bazillion pictures of our trip.

At the end of the day we let Wes pick out souvenires and shocker he wanted a big sucker. We also found a cup with his name on it which is really rare. I am never able to find things with his name on it. We convinced him that that was cooler than some stupid stuffed animal, so that is what we brought home.

Last Day

Well our fantastic trip had to end eventually I guess. The last day at the beach may have been one of the funnest. I wish I had pictures of us all doing cartwheels and handstands in the surf. And when I say everyone I mean even pregnant Rindy and Wes of course.

That night we went out to dinner while Jesse and Rindy watched the kids then when we got home they went out. Yeah there was a lot of sillyness going on while we watched them.

I have to say we were dreading the long car trips, but Wes was perfect. I was really worried about the potty situation since he has only been potty trained for a few months but that was great too, no accidents and he really didn't have to stop to go that much.

Hopefully we will be able to go on another vacation with the DeLlamas family someday, we had such a great time and love spending time with them.

Here are some more really great pictures of Wes and Nanny. For some reason they can not take a picture with normal faces. We went to Kneader's for breakfast and of course it was beyond delish.

Then we headed to the zoo.

They have an exhibit right now called Zoorasic Park with a bunch of huge dinosaurs scattered around the zoo. Well they move and roar and scared the pants off Wes. At least it made him cuddle with his mom.

New Toys

Well Nanny took Wes on a shopping spree today, and he got some really fun things (even though they may be a little old for him). First of all he got skates. Remember the Fisher Price ones that we had as kids that went over your shoes? That's what he got.

His BFF Aaden loved them too, so they had to keep taking turns.

The next new toy is a bike. Yes a real bike and NO he can not peddal or steer, but he will be able to soon enough.

Seriously how Rad is this bike, that's actually why he wanted it because it looked like the bikes on one of his favorite movies...RAD.

Wes also got a bouncy ball, a water gun, playdough and new socks. He totally made out today, what a lucky boy.

Love him!

Last friday was absolutely gorgeous out and we spent pretty much the whole day outside. First we went to Farm Country, I didn't take any pictures. Then we went to a UVU baseball game. Just look at that crowd, hahaha. Whatever we had fun supporting my alma mater.

Then the evening finished off with golfing at Fox Hollow. Josh takes Wes golfing pretty much everyday, I love watching them do this together.

He is pretty good for a 2 year old, i think.

Tonight we took Wes' wiggle bike to the parking lot across the street and were taking turns pushing each other down the hill. Well one time he turned around to say "hi mom, hi dad" and he lost control. I was afraid he broke his arm thankfully he just smashed his lip. There was so much blood, but he only cried for a couple minutes. I think I was sadder about this than him. I know mouth injuries bleed a lot, but it was still freaky. Oh my poor boy :(

We had a fantastic Easter this year! The morning started with Wes finding his basket that the Easter Bunny hid for him (that's a tradition that my family has done my whole life). Wes already got a basket from my mom and one from my sister, so the basket from the Easter Bunny pretty much had no candy in it.

He didn't care though, he ate both plums and his pear that morning

I am obsessed with this suite, I got it at a consignment store in Charlotte and hopefully we will be getting some professional pictures in it.

Went to Josh's parents for Easter dinner. The kids of course had an Easter egg hunt, then there was a lesson on the true meaning of Easter. Sadly that sometimes gets forgotten with all the candy and activities.

Update

I feel like a lot has happened in the last week so I wanted to do an update post to let everyone know all about it. First of all I started potty training Wes a little over a week ago and he is doing great. He started out really well then had a day or two with tons of accidents and now he is back on track. We aren't even using diapers at night. I am so proud of my big boy, I really didn't think this would happen already but here we are.

Second is, I got a job! Last Monday I got a call from Blaine (my old Pizza Factory boss) and he needed a new office manager. The pay is great, and I get to work whenever I want as long as i get the stuff done. Also I can take Wes if I ever need to. I can't believe this just fell in my lap, I guess working there for 7 1/2 years paid off.

The biggest news for us is Josh passed his series 63 test (i think that's what it's called) on Friday. He has been studying his butt off for about 3 months and finally it's over, sigh of relief.

Now tonight we are going out with some of our best friends, to our favorite restaurant, Asian Star, to celebrate all the terrific things going on right now. I hope everyone else has had a fantastic week also!

Dying Easter Eggs

Of course it's tradition to color Easter Eggs the day before Easter, but this year Wes got to help and actually had a lot of fun. We don't really eat hard boiled eggs around here, so we always just color regular not boiled eggs. There were only a couple of casualties

Bieber Fever!! I got it

I have wanted to see this movie pretty much since it came out, and I'm not ashamed to say it. So, last night some friends and I went to see it at the dollar theater. Ok, this kid is AMAZING I had no idea how talented he is. He plays the guitar, piano and absolutely kicks A on the drums. Not to mention his dancing, singing and sports. Anyway the movie was totally inspirational to me as a Mom and I kind of want to buy it on DVD when it comes out :)

Dentist & Bagels

Wes went to the dentist this week (it was actually his 3rd visit), but this time was completely different. He was such a big boy and it made me so proud. He let them take x-rays of top and bottom teeth, polish all of his teeth and he got a flouride treatment. He also let the dentist count his teeth, he has 20. He never cried or whined or anything and he got a toy (and a piece of gum from me) at the end. Who knew I could be so happy about a dentist appointment, haha I must be a mom.

This morning I decided to be a little ambitious and make homemade bagels and strawberry cream cheese. Talk about heavenly!! Although they were very time consuming, they were pretty easy and coming from me that is huge. Everyone knows I HATE HATE HATE to bake and I ruin everything. Well I will definitely make these again. Oh and the recipe comes from the sister's cafe blog (I have on my list of cooking blogs) if anyone wants to try them :)

More Virginia

On our last day in Virginia we went to the Children's Museum

and we met my friend Jess and her daughter Brinly there. I haven't seen Jess in years, we actually met in Utah probably about 10 years ago and we were both from VA and now that is where she lives. It was so fun to catch up with her and meet her adorable little girl.

OH MY GOSH! Some little brat bit Wes at the museum. Wes was playing with blocks building towers and this kid came over, knocked down his tower, then tried to take blocks out of Wes's hands. Wes said "no mine" so the kid just chomped down on him. I can honestly say I have never been more pissed off in my life. I jerked the kid off of Wes then I went and found his mom.

Yeah this is Wes in a tutu. He loves guitars and when he saw this in the dress up room he had to wear it, he didn't care that it was a tutu. haha

We left Charlotte on Sunday and drove up to my parent's in VA. We really didn't do too much there except Chuck-E-Cheese and the Children's Museum of Richmond. That's one thing I like about going to my parent's house, Wes has a blast even if we are just hanging out at home.

Yeah this is his purse that he would not leave the house without. It actually was pretty funny, but we made sure we left the purse at Nanny's house.

Lazy 5 Ranch

There is really cool zoo about 30 minutes north of my sister's place called the Lazy 5 Ranch. You can either drive through with your car or go on a horse drawn hay ride (which is what we did). The animals just roam about and you have a bucket of food to feed them.

There were zebras, a bunch of different kinds of cows and deer, pigs, a rhino, giraffes, emus and a bunch of other animals.

You couldn't touch or feed the rhino, but it was still cool to see

We got to spend the first few days of our trip in Charlotte visiting my sister. We did tons of stuff in just 3 days and we had a blast. First we went to Monkey Joe's to "jump jump".

Chuck-E-Cheese (VA)

It was a little cloudy and cold one day while we were in VA (which was super annoying by the way) so my mom and I took Wes to good old Chuck-E-Cheese. He absolutely loved it, we played tons of games and he rode lots of rides. Oh and we drank lots of pop of course.

This was his favorite game, a shooting hoops game. He even won his own tickets on this one because he is awesome at basketball.

One night after dinner we decided we needed doughnuts so...

We went up to Soldier hollow last weekend to go tubing with Josh's family. Unfortunately Wes is still too young to do the big hill, but they do have a little hill for kids under 3. He loved it so much, every time we whipped him down the hill he screamed (an excited scream). I can't wait until he can go down the big hill with us next year.

Valentines Day

I know it's a little late posting about Valentines Day, but at least I'm doing it. Everyone always says how wonderful their Valentines Day always is, but I actually think it's a little overrated. Anyway it really wasn't that great of a day. Josh had to go to a funeral so we didn't eat until super late and we had to take Wes with us and of course he was a beast. On the plus side Wes and I made some cookies for Josh that I thought turned out cute. We also made a yummy breakfast of stuffed french toast, bacon and hashbrowns.

This is Wes helping with the strawberry filling, he really does love to "help" in the kitchen. I just can't wait till his helping is actually helping.
I was watching a cooking show and they sprinkled brown sugar on their bacon just to add a little sweeter flavor and I thought it sounded good. Well Wes dumped the whole container of brown sugar on the bacon and it was so sick, I couldn't even eat it so I threw that batch out and made another one without brown sugar on it.
We also did a valentines photo shoot. Wes isn't too good with the picture taking thing yet, he thinks if I say "say cheese" he should make a goofy face. I love his goofy faces though

My Gram

I just wanted to do a little post about my Gram (I wish I had better pictures of her, but we don't have a scanner and this is all I had on my computer). I'm so thankful I was able to have her in my life and that she was able to meet Wes even though it was only a couple times. I couldn't have asked for a better Gram and I'm happy to think that she has gone home to our Heavenly Father and to be with my Pap. I know she is in a better place, but we are gonna miss her tons. Love you Gram

Girls Getaway

A bunch of girls from my neighborhood went up to Salt Lake this weekend for some much needed girls time. We had a great time, eating, hot tubing, laughing our guts out, staying up way too late, and getting to know each other. What a fun group, I am so lucky to live around such awesome girls!

We went to the zoo on Wed for free zoo day. I guess that do it the last Wednesday of every month in the winter, but I just found out about it. Josh was such a good sport and went with us when everyone else bailed. It was cold but Wes seemed to have fun anyway. We actually did something fun everyday this week, but this was the only place i took pictures.

I don't know if this is in appropriate to post pics like this but look how freaking cute he looks. We were in Kholes the other day and a pack of Toy Story underwear were really cheap so we got them. He was really really excited about them. I know potty training is a long way off for us, but at least we are ready. He sat on his potty pulling down the front of his underwear then he got up, ran in the living room and peed on the floor. haha

Snow Canyon

While we were in St. George this weekend we went hiking in Snow Canyon. The weather was absolutely amazing and the scenery was beautiful. Every time I go there I am in awe of the red rocks and just how different it is. So, here are a bunch of pics.

The second hike we went on had this cool...i don't know what you call it. It was a split in the rocks that you could go in, it was kinda like a cave but it wasn't dark. Anyway it was amazing and it was so fun to just climb around.

The first hike we went to the lava caves. It was so awesome to climb down and go into the the actual caves that were made by lava. It was so dark back there and Wes and Mia were a little freaked out.

We climbed back into that darkness.

And yes he actually fell asleep on our way back to the car. He was on Josh's shoulders and could barely hold himself up.

A couple weeks ago we attempted to go sledding even though there wasn't very much snow. We actually found a great hill that we will have to remember for next time.

We got to spend Christmas in Virginia like we always do, also like we always do, we had a great time. On Christmas Day they got about 6 inches of snow so on Sunday we went outside and played. Wes didn't have any snow clothes with him so I just put plastic bags on him. Also I have put so many new pictures on they are also on the next page, so if you aren't sick to death of it yet you can click older posts and see the rest :)

Richmond has the BEST children's museum. We had a blast and I was surprised that Wes could do everything. I thought he may be a little young, but it was perfect. They have all these diffent stations to do and learn all kinds of things. this is the water station that of course he loved.

He would put wooden eggs in a hole at the top of this " chicken coup" then they would roll down the ramps. Yeah he spent like a half hour doing this.

This is Wes' birthday party we had at our house on his actual birthday. Just a few friends came over for cake and apps. We also went to Mcdonald's earlier that day for a birthday lunch which was way fun. Even though he wont remember this day I think he really had fun and loved telling people it was his "burday". Doesn't he look bored as we were singing Happy Birthday.

this was the cake I made. I HATE baking so it's an ice cream cake. Peppermint ice cream with a chocolate cookie crust. Isn't it cool.

Hannah and I went to see the love of our lives last night...Bret Michaels. This was actually my fourth time seeing him, but never this close. He was so hot and soooo awesome. I was afraid I wouldn't know many songs off his new album but he played all Poison stuff, even Fallen Angel my favorite. This night completely rocked and I'm so glad I got to go with Hannah she is such a fun friend.

Riverwoods is so fun this time of year. They have a Santa, tons of lights and complimentary horse drawn carraige rides. My mom and I took Wes, and even though we froze our butts off it was still fun.

We continued with our tradition and went trick-or-treating with the Kimbers. Thankfully the rain eventually stopped so we could go out. The kids seemed to have a great time and even said "trick-or-treat" when they went to the doors.

Our church had their Halloween Party yesterday and the kids got to trick-or treat (or be-ba-de as Wes says ) at the doors of the church and we just hung out with friends. Everything was decorated really cute, and I already know what Wes will be next year from a costume I saw at the party.

We went to an elementary Halloween Parade on Friday with some friends. The whole time we were just dying that someday our little babies will be walking in a Halloween Parade.

We also found this awesome house in Lindon and they have an actual mini train on tracks that goes through their yard. There are tunnels all over that are decorated with Halloween scenes. The best part is it's FREE! It was the cutest thing and Wes of course loved it, I just wish we would have heard about it earlier in the season.

Okay...WHAT THE HELL! This is seriously what we woke up to yesterday morning. Ugh. whatever.

On to happier things. We went to a Halloween Party today for my friend's husband's work and it was awesome. This Capt. Jack Sparrow was the best. He looked and talked just like the real one, so of course I found myself having a crush on him. Everytime he came by I got all nervous and blushed. hahaha

The party had some really cute games for the kids, like shooting a basketball, bean bag toss, and fishing. Wes won some candy and we drank homemade rootbeer.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Fall!! Except for the fact that it means stupid Winter is coming. We have done some pretty fun things this year as you will see. Sadly we haven't done any of them with Josh (we will have to fix that this week). Today we decorated Wes' pumpkin, and I must say it is the best looking pumpkin I have ever seen. I hate carving pumpkins because it makes me gag so this may be what we do every year.

Gardener Village

If you have never been to Gardener Village you have to go, it is so cute. Unfortunately I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked but we were having to much fun! In October they have witches set up all over the place for the kids to look at.

They have a little petting zoo, but it was just goats. The kids didn't care though.

Hee Haw Farm

Last week we went to Hee Haw's by our house for a field trip. We had such a blast even though the place was infested with elementary school kids (can we say ANNOYING). Anyway there was lots to do and Khloe and Wes were so cute doing things together.

This is the corn pit, I actually prefer this to a sandbox, maybe my parents can fill his sandbox up with corn next summer instead of gross sand :)

Wes absolutely loved feeding the goats, he is still talking about it. The petting zoo at Hee Haw's is so great the kids just go in a pen with goats, sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks.

This slide is way fun, Wes either went down by himself or with Khloe clinging to his back they had so much fun.

You are about to look at A LOT of pictures from our trip to VA. This is our last trip before Wes turnes 2 that means from now on we will have to pay for tickets. We have gone back east 10 times since he was born, crazy huh. This is Wes and Doodle (Emma) my mom's cat. They have a very love/hate relationship. Well mostly hate on Doodles part. She just swatted his head that is why he is holding it, she also bites him quite a bit.

Wes is scared to death of all things halloween. He even has a shirt with Frankenstein on it that he fights me when I try to put it on him. He hates going to Target because he knows there is scary stuff in there. It is actually pretty funny. So how could I resist standing next to this guy. By the way I think Wes is gonna be a skeleton for halloween, hope he doesn't scare himself.

It was really rainy a couple of the days we were there so we went to this inflatable play place. Wes had a blast even though I thought it was kind of lame and some of the kids there were really annoying.

Having a juice break after being pulled around in a wagon all day, that's pretty tiring.

Pap under the hood of Wes' new F150. My parents found this down the street, some people who were moving out put it out for the garbage truck to take. Well there was no way my dad was gonna pass this up. He took it home cleaned it up got a new battery and hood and Wes has a new toy. It will probably be another year before he can do it by him self, there is a foot pedal and he doesn't know how to work it.

Well we just got back from the circus read on and hear about our exciting night with our 21 month old at the circus. An event that you have to sit still to watch.

I really didn't get very many pictures at the circus. In all honesty I think I had more fun than Wes and Josh.

We got there early so we got to go down on the floor and see the clowns and they even brought an elephant out. Of course Wes' favorite part was climbing on this thing and jumping around on it.

He didn't last very long before he started asking to go "bye bye" so I gave him a tootsie pop and he lasted through the whole first half and actually seemed entertained. We left about half way through the second half. So annoying.

Let me just ask you, does this hat look like it's worth $10? Well what if I told you it came with a bag of cotton candy. Yep that is how much we paid for a bag of cotton candy, that Wes absolutely hated. Whatever it was fun and we were caught up in the moment.

So to sum up our night, we probably wont be taking Wes back to the circus for a couple of years, but I am glad we went seeing his face when the elephants and mini horses came out made it all worth it.

Wes went to the dentist again. (i promise i'm not going to post every time he goes) He just looked so cute sitting in the chair with a toothbrush I had to take a picture when the assistant left the room.

Josh's parents have a nectarine and a peach tree, when we went over the other day Wes ate one of each and sucked each one down to the pit. This kid loves fruit!

We went to the Raspberry Farm last week, unfortunately I have no pictures of Wes' face, I guess he was too busy to look at me. They had a blast the first hour we were there eating the raspberries faster than I could pick them. The second hour was a different story. There was quite a bit of asking to go 'bye bye" but I had a certain amount of berries i wanted to pick so they just had to deal with it.

So, Wes loves to put on our shoes and walk around. These are mine but josh put them on him and made him walk out to me. It was really funny at the time.

What the crap was I thinking. That sucker was EVERYWHERE you can't see it that well but it is on his arms and chest too. It was also on the couch. He only got it for a few minutes then it was history (meaning I chucked it in the trash)

Last week we went to the Gardens for one last girls/kids day before Ailee has her baby. Wes and Sophia are so cute together. this is them destroying some flowers.

This picture is missing Marshall because he wasn't in a very good mood that day, and was in the process of throwing a minor trantrum.
